Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need proof of custody
of my children when I travel to Luxembourg?
We strongly recommend that you carry some sort of
document with you showing that you are indeed the
parents of your children and that they are under joint
custody.
Since Luxembourg will not be your first point of
entry into Europe, it would be a good idea to contact
the Embassy of the country of your point of entry
into Europe to see if they require any special document.
How do I apply for
a work permit?
It will be your employer's responsibility to apply
for a work permit for you. Normally, after a work
permit has been approved by the Ministry of Labor,
the file is transferred to the Ministry of Justice,
who is responsible for approving residence permits.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to obtain a work
permit and then seek employment in Luxembourg. Please
be advised that the application process for these
permits can each take several weeks.
